Athletes are aware that riding gravel bikes/e-bikes/mountain biking entails risks, such as fatigue during the ride. At the Black Forest ULTRA Gravel, athletes' physical limits are strongly challenged. It is acknowledged that such an event can endanger life and safety due to environmental conditions, equipment, weather, road traffic, and obstacles. The German Road Traffic Act applies on public roads. The organizer can only take safety measures for foreseeable risks. It is understood that not everything is foreseeable or controllable. The organizer is not obliged to take excessive measures that are not proportionate to the potential damage. By starting, the participant agrees to the condition and nature of the track and consciously assumes all risks, even if they arise from underestimating the difficulty of the track. The participant is responsible for their equipment and choice of route.

4. Rights and Duties of Riders
The assigned saddle number must be securely attached to the seat post and must not be altered or damaged. It is mandatory to wear an approved bicycle helmet and gloves throughout the race.
Every rider must carry an ID card. Special caution is required in sections where visibility is limited.
Participants are obliged to stay on the trails designated for the ULTRA Gravel. The rules of conduct/recommendations for the protection of wild animals can be found under bewusstwild.de.

5. Personal Liability
The athlete is personally liable for damages to third parties caused by their participation in the competition, whether bodily injury or property damage. In the event of an accident, the perpetrator must provide their bib number and personal data to the affected party. Liability insurance at the participant's own expense is recommended. The participant is solely responsible for their equipment. The organizer is not obliged to check or monitor participants' equipment. The liability of the organizer for simple negligence is limited to the extent and amount of the organizer's liability insurance.

6. Cancellation of Participation
It is recommended to purchase the Datasport insurance during online registration (information can be found here). The insurance will only refund the amount upon presentation of a medical certificate confirming illness or accident. If this insurance was not purchased during registration, the registration fees cannot be refunded. For a fee of €10.00, it is possible to transfer the starting position to another participant. Information on transferring starting positions.

7. Event Cancellation
The organizer reserves the right to adjust the regulations, course layout, and altitude profile. The event will take place in all weather conditions as long as the safety of the athletes is not compromised. However, the organizers reserve the right to interrupt it, delay the starts, or cancel the ride at short notice at their discretion. If the event cannot take place due to force majeure, all relevant details will be announced on the event website or on-site during the race.

8. Support During the Race/Accidents
Support of athletes by private vehicles on the course is strictly prohibited.
In case of accidents or medical emergencies, dial 112. Participants are also obliged to report these to the organizing committee to avoid search operations for injured riders at the end of the event. Costs incurred due to failure to report are borne by the participant. The telephone number is printed on the saddle number.
